MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 Coverage

Preceding with the success of MTV World Stage last year, MTV World Stage 2010 was held once again in the shores of Malaysia on July 31st at Sunway Surf Beach . The biggest event of the year - MTV World Stage was a success despite the wet day which didn't dampen the spirits of 15, 000 audiences. This year MTV World Stage saw performance by local act Bunkface, German Rock band Tokio Hotel, South Korean Girl Group Wonder Girls , and Katy Perry.

VJs including UTT (MTV Asia) , Sean (MTV Korea), Juju(MTV China) and Chris (MTV Japan) were the hosts of the night.

The show kicked off with our very own Malaysia's local act, Bunkface . They belted out songs "Prom Queen" , "Situasi", "Bunk Anthem" and their so famous song "Through My Window" and kept the crowd energized through out their performance.

Next to perform were The Wonder Girls, who gave a sexy, charismatic and energetic performance as they belted out "I Wanna" ,"Goodbye","So Hot","Tell Me","2 Different Tears" and their hit song "Nobody". Speaking of cool, they even got props for their performance! Being a fashionista they are, they've changed quite a number of outfits for their songs performed. Their outfits for that night were a combination of sexy, edgy, rock, demure, glamorous and basically, everything in between.

Due to technical difficulties , Tokio Hotel's performance was delayed about one hour which left the crowd restless and they even "BOO-ed" the VJs on stage. The intermission was undoubtedly long and to keep the crowd from getting restless, adverts and music videos of the artistes were being played on the big TV screen. Even VJs gave out free goodies on stage to keep the crowd cool and patient. The quartet finally emerged on stage and got the crowd all pumped out with "Noise". The German rock band also performed songs "Automatic",
"Human Connect to Human" ,"Darkside of the Sun", "Moonsoon",and "World Behind My Wall". Besides their amazing props on stage, the lead singer Bill dramatic outfit definitely captured the crowd attention. His style on that night was very "Gareth Pugh" inspired. As seen on him was a lot of black latex and leather going on from head to toe. Studded shoulder pad jacket with black meggings and high DR Martens boots was the outfit of the night.

The crowd got hyped again when VJ UTT appeared on stage.Wonder Girls fans got a treat as they will have an encore performance after Katy Perry.

Last to perform was quirky singer, Katy Perry with her opening number "California Gurls". She also performed a series of her hit song which includes "Thinking of You", " I Kissed A Girl", "Waking Up in Vegas". Katy teased the crowd with her new song "Peacock" off her new album
" Teenage Dream " which is due out August 24. Moving on, she kept her dressing all simple and glamorous that night in just one amazing beautiful garment - a nude sequined bodysuit with a cream tutu skirt. Speaking of zany, she has transformed into a classic and elegant beauty that night!

Concert goers began to leave the venue after Katy's performance. But, some stayed just to catch another glimpse of The Wonder Girls encore performance.
